Still doesnt list the explorer optical mouse (the one with 5 buttons plus the wheel). I have the original optical mouse if that helps (its silver). After I restored the E-machine software I tried to Install the new intellipoint mouse w/wheel and now get the error message "support software failed to load".

Suggest you uninstall IntelliPoint again , the delete the mouse from the device manager then reboot. Mouse should be re-detected and then install IP3.2 again
